At Kickers, we’re always looking at different ways to collaborate with partners that inspire and shape their particular industry. Fashion Famous needs no introduction with over 1.7 Billion plays to date, we know that kids across the UK love the creativeness and freedom of self expression that comes with creating your own outfits. We’ve worked hard with Fashion Famous to ensure that all kids playing the game are in a safe environment and wanted to share our tips for parents who are new or want to find out more about the gaming industry:
What is Roblox and how does Fashion Famous come into this?
Roblox is a global platform where millions of people gather together every day to imagine, create, and share experiences with each other in immersive, user-generated 3D worlds. The types of gameplay on Roblox are just as limitless as the imagination of the creators themselves. Fashion Famous is one of these 3D worlds where players have a set time to find an outfit based on a specific theme. It’s then a race to find the best outfit and then show it off in front of the other players on the catwalk. After each catwalk, players can vote on the outfit, and the outfit with the best total votes wins the round.
What safety measures are enforced on all Roblox authorised games?
1) Dedicated Trust & Safety Team
2) Proactive Safety Review of Uploaded Assets
The platform conduct a safety review of every uploaded image, audio, and video file, using a combination of review by a large team of human moderators and machine detection before these assets become available on our platform for our community to utilise in their creations.
3) Parental Controls
The platform offers parental controls and features such as “Account Restrictions,” so parents and caregivers have the option to limit chat to a curated list of contacts for their kids’ accounts, or turn it off altogether. They can also choose to lock their kid’s “Contact Settings” so they cannot be changed. Parents can also set monthly spending restrictions on under 13 kids’ accounts and elect to receive email notifications from Roblox on all spend activity. For additional payment security, Roblox also includes measures like payment verification charges, where parents may be asked to verify micro-transactions with their payment provider.
Players can report inappropriate chat messages or content by using our Report Abuse system, which is located throughout the site and in-game. Users can easily mute or block players that they come across in games and report inappropriate content/behaviour using our Report Abuse system. When a user submits a report about any rule violations, our safety team assesses complaints deemed actionable to ensure appropriate action is taken as quickly as possible. That action can include temporary suspension, account or content removal, or proactive reporting to authorities.
5) Chat filtering
The chat filters are rigorous and industry-leading, and are continuously updated to block the sharing of inappropriate words, personal information or off-platform links, including to Discord servers and other third-party spaces where we do not have visibility.
Our expert team, of thousands of people, is dedicated to monitoring for safety around the world, 24/7.
Our chat filters block inappropriate words or phrases, chat behaviour that clearly indicates an attempt to bring a player off our platform, social media links and references to third-party chat applications, and questions related to personal information like age, phone number, or address of another user. In order for us to maintain a safe platform and prevent inappropriate content in violation of our policies, users are also not able to exchange images or videos via chat or one-to-one user interactions on Roblox.
