The National Saturday Club

The National Saturday Club gives 13–16-year-olds across the UK the opportunity to study subjects they love for free at their local university, college or cultural institution. The programme is free, has no exams and offers 13–16-year-olds a unique opportunity to build their skills, develop their confidence, and to discover pathways to further study and future careers. Saturday Clubs are currently offered in six subjects: Art & Design, Fashion & Business, Film & Media, Science & Engineering, Society & Change and Writing & Talking.

With a particular focus on reaching young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and underrepresented communities, in the 2020–2021 academic year, 72% of National Saturday Club members were from Widening Participation backgrounds:

We’ve always been an advocate for creative expression and that’s why we love working with the National Saturday club to help teens find what they enjoy. Kickers has taken part and hosted multiple National Saturday Club Masterclass sessions with the most recent being around Kicker’s marketing activations and consumer profiling.

This was a large, virtual masterclass, nurturing 110 young people and inspiring them to explore pathways in the creative industry and educational institutions. Check out some of the feedback below:

“The Kickers Masterclass stood out for me this year, it showed me people who have made it into a creative job.” Art Design Club member, Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin University.

“I decided I would like to have a job in marketing like the people from the Masterclass.” Art&Design Club member, The Northern School of Art Middlesbrough.

We’re really proud to work with the National Saturday club and support the positive impact they have on young people, including the below:
