Not the Kickers they used to be

I bought these for my son going into Year 7.
Within weeks the my started flapping. He isn’t a kid playing football or running around so I was totally confused.
At half term, after 6 weeks, I took them to the cobblers to be reglued. Glued, because they are glued. The old Kickers had the soles stitched - not any more.
The cobbler had over 8 pairs of Kickers behind him all for the same thing.
After three trips to have them glued, I invested in some super glue myself.
Over the Autumn, the leather bubbled. On research this is due to shoes getting wet. It’s Autumn in the UK. If shoes can’t handle the rain, they’re cheap and poorly made.
Kickers are not cheap and having been a loyal customer (all my kids had Kickers as their first shoes) I can’t, in good faith, ever buy again. Having spoken to other parents, Kickers are renowned for being poor and not lasting. I don’t know how they maintain their rep for “school” shoes - they’re awful. Such a shame.
